For the recently presented "Stator Cage Machine" an analytical calculation method is developed. First of all the magneto-motive force produced by the stator is analyzed and a definition for the number of phases of such machines is given. Following, parameters of the machine (resistance, inductivity and flux linkage) and the generated torque are calculated. As the machine does not contain conventional windings, this calculation considerably differs from well-known methods. As this machine type is very promising e.g. as traction drive for automobile applications, generating several pole pairs and changing polepairs during operation is analyzed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
