Introduction : Le diabète sucré est une affection métabolique chronique, fréquente, reconnue comme une épidémie mondiale. Méthodes : C’est une étude descriptive et rétrospective sur un échantillon de 50 patients à l’HPGRK sur une période de 2 ans. Résultats : Environ 60% étaient des femmes et 40% des hommes avec un sex ratio de 1,5/1. La tranche d’âge la plus touchée était comprise entre 52 et 62 ans, 94% des patients avaient un âge > 40 ans avec un âge moyen de 55,48±11,620. Le type 2 était prédominant avec 82,0%. 32% des patients étaient souvent obèses (12%) et en surpoids (20%) et 8% en dénutri. Les signes cardinaux de diabète sucré (44%) étaient les principales plaintes. La glycémie > 200 mg/dl (64%). Le facteur de risque de diabète revient aux antécédents familiaux de diabète sucré (56%) et les facteurs de risque cardiovasculaire à l’alcool (60%) et l’HTA. Le pied diabétique était la principale complication (42%). Conclusion : Le diabète sucré est fréquent. Il concerne souvent les femmes que les hommes, sujets de plus de 40 ans.
