Currently, the index of the use of activated carbon as adsorbent in the treatment of water contaminated by dyes is constant due to its very developed porosity. However, due to the way this material is produced, its high cost and scarcity, it is necessary to search for alternative materials that guarantee the same efficiency. This study investigated the efficiency of white clay as an adsorbent for Indosol Blue (IB), Indosol Orange (IO) and Drimarene Red (DR). The adsorption data showed that the kinetic processes agreed with the pseudo-second order model. The adsorption processes were better adjusted to the Langmuir isotherm, indicating a chemical adsorption.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
