Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) for 21 insecticides of phthalamides containing hydrazone (PCH) was studied using multiple linear regression (MLR), principle component regression (PCR) and artificial neural network (ANN). Five descriptors were included in the model for MLR and ANN analysis, and five latent variables obtained from principle component analysis (PCA) were used in PCR analysis. Calculation of descriptors was performed using semi-empirical PM6 method. ANN analysis was found to be superior statistical technique compared to the other methods and gave a good correlation between descriptors and activity (r2 = 0.84). Based on the obtained model, we have successfully designed some new insecticides with higher predicted activity than those of previously synthesized compounds, e.g.2-(decalinecarbamoyl)-5-chloro-N’-((5-methylthiophen-2-yl)methylene) benzohydrazide, 2-(decalinecarbamoyl)-5-chloro-N’-((thiophen-2-yl)-methylene) benzohydrazide and 2-(decaline carbamoyl)-N’-(4-fluorobenzylidene)-5-chlorobenzohydrazide with predicted log LC50 of 1.640, 1.672, and 1.769 respectively.
Safe and proper disposal of waste is an important component in integrated waste management. The method of accumulating garbage in landfills (TPA) can result in a decrease in environmental quality due to air pollution due to solid waste burning, groundwater pollution due to leaching, and an increasing number of disease vectors that can endanger the health of waste collectors and residents. around the landfill. The purpose of this study was to determine the metal content of Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg) and Copper (Cu) in the leachate of TPA BatuBola. This research method uses descriptive exploratory method by conducting a survey first. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer is a tool used in this study. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the test result data with the quality standards by Permen LHK P.59 / 2016 and Permen LHK No.5 / 2014. The data shows that the concentration of Hg metal is <0.0004 mg / L. Meanwhile, the threshold set by the government is 0.005 mg / L. The concentration of lead metal (Pb) also shows a value that is below the quality standard threshold, namely <0.003 mg / L, while the set limit is 0.1 mg / L. As well, the measurement of copper metal (Cu) is still below the quality standard threshold, namely <0.006 mg / L, while the limit set by the government is 2.0 mg / L. However, caution must be exercised because if it is accumulated in large quantities it can still be dangerous.
The author conducted this study aimed to determine the communication style of the Department of the Environment, programs, and the obstacles in increasing awareness of the clean environment of the people of Binjai City. This type of research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. Research informants consisted of leaders and employees of the Department of the Environment by means of purposive sampling. Data collection tools are carried out through the stages of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the communication model of the Department of the Environment in increasing environmental awareness of the people of Binjai City was as follows: two-way communication style, motivational communication style, one command communication style and control communication style. The researcher also found that there are several programs from the Department of the Environment in increasing public awareness of environmental cleanliness in the City of Binjai, namely as follows: garbage bank, garbage collection, street cleaning, banner installation and mini garden construction. The researcher also found the obstacles faced by the Environment Agency, namely technical, semantic, and cultural barriers.
Good laboratories should be able to apply procedures uncertainty for measuring of both conventional and instrument equipment. As well as the testing for Fe content using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. As for the purpose for calculating the uncertainty estimated to determine the range of values within which estimated the true value of the testing standard solution Fe using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The uncertainty estimation are influenced by several factors such as sample used, reading of spectrophotometer, repeatability, sample volume. The uncertainty of the calculation obtained a value of ± 0,02 mg/L. Further testing of Fe content in the clean water using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer at the 500 nm wavelength which forms an orange solution as indication of Fe content in the water. The result of Fe content has quality standards according to the spesifications issued by ministry of health Republic of Indonesia in 2010 for drinking water.
