Kahramanmaras is at the point of the intersection of Mediterranean and Irano-Turanian phytogeographical regions which are very important in terms of geographical location and plant geography. This area has a rich and various vegetation structure due to complex physical geographical structure and other environmental factors. It is crucial to protect by determinating this rich biodiversity. The research area is located in the Kahramanmaras province and on the C6 square in Davis's grid system. The campus of KSU and its surrounding area is located in the Ceyhan Valley. The native flora of this area has been extensively destroyed by anthropogenic effects. This study was carried out between 2015 and 2017 and the plants used in medicinal and aromatic purposes of the native flora were investigated. As a result, it was determined that 47 plant taxa belonging to 27 families for used medically. In terms of species number, the largest families are as following; Lamiaceae (7), Asteraceae (5), Rosaceae (3). These plant taxa were alphabetically indicated according to their family names, Latin and local names as well as with their used parts and usage purposes.

This study was carried out in the research field of Department of Field Crops, Faculty of Agriculture, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University. The research was conducted to determine the optimum planting time of mung bean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) in Kahramanmaraş ecological conditions. The experiment was established as a randomized block design with three replications. Mung bean seeds were sown at five different sowing times (30 March, 15 April, 30 April, 15 May and 30 May). According to the results of the research, it was found that the differences among the averages of all traits except for plant height, number of seeds in pods and NDF ratio were significant. In the research, the emerging time of seedlings, 50% flowering period, 50% encapsulation period, 50% maturation period and plant height ranged from 6.33 to 14.67 days, 50.00 to 67.33 days, 57 to 70 days, 73.67 to 99.00 days and 36.43-41.70 cm respectively. When the values related to pod formation were examined, it was found that the first pod height, pod length, the number of pods, the number of seeds per pod and seed yield were between 11.82-21.70 cm, 9.06-10.63 cm, 9.43-23.93 pcs/plant, 9.90-10.27 pcs/pod and 25.00-74.21 kg/da, respectively. In addition, it was determined that the number of leaves, fresh forage yield, dry forage yield, crude ash ratio, ADF ratio and NDF ratio were between 47.30-73.77 pcs/plant, 960.00-1512.38 kg/da, 232.35-316.59 kg/da, 13.03-16.91%, 22.17-29.12% and 55.06-56.05%, respectively.

Ülkemizde silaj yapımı son yıllarda giderek artan bir hızla yaygınlaşmaktadır. Silaj yapımının tekniğine uygun şekilde yapılması, üstün kaliteli silaj elde edilmesi için bir ön şarttır. Bununla birlikte silaj mikro florası, bunların birbirleri ile ilişkileri ve silo içerisindeki gelişimleri, silaj kalitesini belirleyen ana unsurlardan biridir. Ancak, ülkemizde silaj yapımı ile ilgilenen işletmelerin önemli bir çoğunluğu, bilgi eksikliği, dikkatsizlik veya önemsememe gibi nedenlerle, bu konuya gereken önemi vermedikleri için, silaj kalitesinde önemli kayıplar yaşanabilmekte ve silajın aerobik stabilitesinde azalmalar görülmektedir. Bazen bu yanlış uygulamaların sonucunda hayvan sağlığı tehdit edilmekte veya hayvansal ürünlerde de kalite kayıpları yaşanmaktadır. Silaj yapımında uygun teknikleri uygulayabilmek için, silaj mikro florasının davranışlarını ve sonuçlarını bilmek büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu makalede, literatür bilgilerine göre, silaj içerisindeki mikro floranın genel durumu, birbirleri ile ilişkileri, fermentasyon yönü ve silaj kalitesine etkileri incelenmiştir.

In total, 695 Lactic acid bacteria isolation was made from forage crops grown in a wide part of Turkey's rangeland flora and their silages. A big majority of isolated strains (531) could regenerate. All regenerated isolates were incubated in MRS agar media containing CaCO3 in order to determine their total organic acid production. Selected 70 isolates according to their organic acid production were incubated in MRS broth media and their lactic acid productions were determined. High lactic acid producer 10 isolates were selected among treated isolates and they were identified using BIOLOG device in terms of their individual usage of different carbohydrate source during incubation period. Keywords: LAB, Identification, Isolation, Silage, Fermentation Products Farklı Ekolojilerdeki Yem Bitkilerinden ve Silajlarından Yüksek Laktik Asit Üreten Bakteri İzolasyonu ve Tanımlanması ÖzetTürkiye'nin geniş bir bölümündeki meralarda bulunan yem bitkilerinden ve bunların silajlarından 695 adet LAB izolasyonu yapılmıştır. Elde edilen izolatlardan önemli bir çoğunluğu (531 adet) rejenere olabilmiştir. Bu izolatlar CaCO3 içeren MRS agar besi yerinde inkübe edilmiş ve toplam organik asit üretimleri belirlenmiştir. Toplam asit üretimi yüksek olan 70 adet izolat MRS broth besi yerinde inkübe edilerek, laktik asit üretimleri belirlenmiştir. Bu izolatlar içerisinden laktik asit üretimi yüksek olduğu tespit edilen 10 adet izolat seçilmiştir. Seçilen 10 adet izolatın BIOLOG cihazında inkübasyon süresi boyunca farklı karbonhidrat kaynaklarını kullanma esasına göre tanımlaması yapılmıştır.

Araştırma, Kahramanmaraş ekolojik koşullarda, 2017-2018 yılı vejetasyon dönemlerinde (tomurcuklanma, %50 çiçeklenme ve tam çiçeklenme) hasat edilen arı otunun (Phacelia tanacetifolia Bentham) ot verimini ve besin madde içeriğini belirlemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; bitki boyu 40.03-83.12 cm, yeşil ot verimi 535-1332.3 kg da-1 ve kuru ot verimi 69.36-338.48 kg da-1 arasında değişmiştir. Kimyasal bileşenler incelendiğinde; ham kül (HK) %14.05-19.17, ham protein (HP) %6.45-9.65, ham yağ (HY) %2.20-3.05, asit deterjan lif (ADF) %25.4-30.63 ve nötr deterjan lif (NDF) %41.49-47.84 arasında değişmiştir. Arı otu bitkisinin gaz, metan üretimleri, metabolik enerji (ME) ve organik madde sindirim derecesi (OMSD) sırasıyla 41.70-48.18 ml, 4.62-5.19 ml, 8.24-9.32 MJ /kg DM ve % 64.01-74.53 arasında değiştiği tespit edilmiştir. Vejetasyon dönemi ilerledikçe bitki boyu ot veriminde ve hücre duvarını oluşturan unsurlarda artış olmasına rağmen ham protein, metabolik enerji ve organik madde sindirim derecesinde düşüşler meydana gelmiştir. Bu yüzden ruminant hayvanlar için iyi kaliteli ot elde etmek amacıyla arı otu ilk iki vejetasyon döneminde hasat edilebileceği önerilir.
