The aim of the present study is to review and compare between the methodologies used for modeling condensation with non-condensable, in a two-phase flows channel. The important state-of-the art numerical algorithms for the solution of multi-phase conservation equations are reviewed. The methodology for modeling condensation in these algorithms is based on the stagnant film theory. The methodology used in RELAP5/MOD3 was the most accurate model because it rigorously treats the coupling between the heat and mass transfer processes, and the gas-liquid interphase without iteration.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
