Phenomenon: Indigenous and non-Indigenous scholars have called for mentorship as a viable approach to supporting the retention and professional development of Indigenous students in the health sciences. In the context of Canadian reconciliation efforts with Indigenous Peoples, we developed an Indigenous mentorship model that details behavioral themes that are distinct or unique from non-Indigenous mentorship. Approach: We used Flanagan's Critical Incidents Technique to derive mentorship behaviors from the literature, and focus groups with Indigenous faculty in the health sciences associated with the AIM-HI network funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Identified behaviors were analyzed using Lincoln and Guba's Cutting-and-Sorting technique. Findings: Confirming and extending research on mainstream mentorship, we identified behavioral themes for 1) basic mentoring interactions, 2) psychosocial support, 3) professional support, 4) academic support, and 5) job-specific support. Unique behavioral themes for Indigenous mentors included 1) utilizing a mentee-centered approach, 2) advocating on behalf of their mentees and encouraging them to advocate for themselves, 3) imbuing criticality, 4) teaching relationalism, 5) following traditional cultural protocols, and 6) fostering Indigenous identity. Insights: Mentorship involves interactive behaviors that support the academic, occupational, and psychosocial needs of the mentee. Indigenous mentees experience these needs differently than non-Indigenous mentees, as evidenced by mentor behaviors that are unique to Indigenous mentor and mentee dyads. Despite serving similar functions, mentorship varies across cultures in its approach, assumptions, and content. Mentorship programs designed for Indigenous participants should consider how standard models might fail to support their needs.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed a significant risk to the health and well-being of First Nations and Métis communities in Alberta. Communities' self-determined and integrated responses with embedded cultural supports – in collaboration with governments, organizations and providers – were key to minimizing morbidity and mortality. Maintaining and building these relationships in the continued pandemic response, broadening approaches to healthcare delivery and continuing to include culture will support attainment of the Indigenous primary healthcare model while addressing logistical challenges in transforming and sustaining healthcare systems in the background of ongoing inequities in the social determinants of health.

Industrial-Organizational (I-O) psychology is a rigorous applied discipline that has historically grown and adapted to meet the societal needs of the times. In 2015, Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission released its report, the fourth volume of which supplied the momentum and political will to begin a process of healing between the nation-state and the country's Indigenous Peoples. While we are making progress in health, education, criminal justice, mental health services, social work, and many other disciplines, record high unemployment and poverty are left untouched. In this article, we (a) review the historical context that positions I-O to contribute to reconciliation efforts, (b) organize a sample of the scholarly literature on Indigenous employment, (c) make recommendations for future research to benefit Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations, employees, work life, and reconciliation, and (d) propose conceptual, behavioral, and methodological modifications for I-O practitioners to (a) conduct research in line with Indigenous standards for ethical and competent research and (b) create a more welcoming and equitable space for upand-coming Indigenous researchers in I-O. Public Significance StatementDespite the dire need and national agendas to support Indigenous employment, research lacks in amount, topical coverage, and theoretical development. Research across Canada, New Zealand, the U.S., and Australia, shows that culture consistently influences Indigenous employers' and employees' workrelated experiences and decision-making, and that employment barriers are numerous. Our findings are relevant to Indigenous leaders concerned about employment and researchers in industrial-organizational psychology and business interested in contributing to reconciliation.

This study extends our knowledge on one important indicator of health status for individuals with intellectual disability in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. The results may be used to inform health care practices with individuals with intellectual disabilities and stimulate future research to understand contextual factors contributing to health disparities.

Native communities, in managing their health, education, land, and community development, must constantly interact with mainstream government agencies, academic institutions, and other entities. Cultural worldviews influence such interactions, as do memories of the negative historical encounters Native communities have had with non-Native society. To help foster collaboration between mainstream scientists and Native people toward sustainability, a technique of having them cooperatively develop pictorial visions (i.e. Vision Maps) of Native community sustainability was employed. This paper describes the development of a method of analyzing the resulting pictures and the conclusions that were drawn from collaborative sustainability visions.

Science has been identified as a crucial element in the competitiveness and sustainability of America in the global economy. American citizens, especially minority populations, however, are not pursuing science education or careers. Past research has implicated 'attitudes toward science' as an important factor in the public's participation in science. I applied Ajzen's (1991) Theory of Planned Behavior to attitudes toward science to predict science-related sustainability-action intentions and evaluated whether scientists and Native Americans differed in their general attitudes toward science, cultural values, and specific beliefs about science. Analyses revealed that positive attitude toward science and the cultural value of individualism predicted intentions to engage with science-related sustainability actions. Unexpectedly, scientists and Native Americans did not differ in their cultural values or positive attitude toward science. However, Natives Americans held significantly more negative attitude toward science than scientists. Implications for science education and attitudes towards science theory and application are discussed.
