Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the trends in open and endovascular repair of elective abdominal aortic aneurysm (eAAA) and ruptured AAA (rAAA) stratified by age and sex from 2003 to 2016.Methods: We conducted a population-based time-series analysis of eAAA and rAAA repairs in Ontario, Canada, from 2003 to 2016. Quarterly rates of age-and sex-stratified open surgical repair (OSR) and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) were calculated. We fit exponential smoothing models to examine the age-and sex-stratified changes in overall and approach-specific rates of eAAA and rAAA repair.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
