Dans les zones sahéliennes, l’agropastoralisme constitue la principale activité qui régit l’économie locale et occupe une part importante de la population. Au-delà de son aspect vital dans l’Extrême-Nord du Cameroun, l’agropastoralisme est confronté aujourd’hui au phénomène des changements climatiques qui s’accentue de plus en plus. Les effets du changement climatique se traduisent par la faiblesse de la pluviométrie, des sécheresses par moment, mais aussi des inondations à répétition. Ayant modifié la pratique agropastorale, le changement climatique a poussé les acteurs et actrices du développement local durable à adopter des stratégies de résilience sans lesquelles l’économie de la région serait menacée. L’objectif de cet article est d’analyser les différentes stratégies d’adaptation au changement climatique développées au niveau local par les populations et les partenaires au développement. Au-delà de l’adaptabilité des populations, la vulnérabilité de l’agropastoralisme face au changement climatique dans le septentrion camerounais crée souvent des tensions qui se transforment en conflit ouvert ou latent et menacent ainsi le vivre-ensemble.
