Es wird der Mechanismus der Reaktion zwischen Natriumformiat und Jod angegeben und die Geschwindigkeit dieser Reaktion in reinem Wasser und in KBr−, KCI− und KJ‐Lösungen bei 15°, 25°, 35° und 45° C im Dunkeln gemessen.
In unserer fruheren Arbeit 1) berichteten wir iiber Versuche, welche ergaben, daB die Korrosionsgeschwindigkeit des Thalliums in Wasser durch elektrochemische Vorgiinge bestimint wird und Beluftung mit Sauerstoff die Geschwindigkeit erhoht, Wasserstoff die Korrosion verzogert. Da die beschleunigende Rirkung des Sauerstoffs schon in geringer Konzentration sehr grog ist, schien es von TTichtigkeit, Versuche mit reinem Wasserstoff in geschlossenem Ranme durchzuf iihren. Wir benutzten als ReaktionsgefaB wieder ein 600 om3 groBes Jenaer Becherglas, jedoch init einem an drei Stellen durchbohrten Qummistopfen verschlossen. I n der mittleren Bohrung wurde ein Jenaer KPG-Biihrer befestigt an dessen Ende eine 58 mm groBe Thalliumscheibe 2 , mit gereinigteni weiBem Rienenwachs waagerecht befestigt wurde. Durch die zweite Bohrung wurde das gereinigte Gas eingeleitet und konnte d a m aus der dritten Rohrung durch einen Hlasenziihler entweichen. Pas ReaktionsgefiiR, beschickt mit 300 em3 vorgewiirrnten destillier-ten Wasser, wurde in den auf 25 & 0,05 O C eingestellten Thermostaten gesenkt, Wasserstoff in schnellem Strome durchgeleitet, nach etws 5 Minuten die aktivierte Th:tlliumscheibe 3, eingesetzt und in Drehung gebracht. Die Umdrehungszahl der Schei be betrug in allen Versuchen 50 pro Minute. Unter stancligem Durchleiteii des schuellen Wasserstoffstrornes wurde nach 10 Minuten mit einer 25 cm3-Pipette die erste Probe entnomrnen und gegen Methylrot mit 0,02 n-Saure titriert. Die Versuchsergebnisse eothalt nachstehende Tabelle. Die Versuche Nr. 1 und 3, welche in sauerstofffreier Wasserstoffatmosphare dnrchgef iihrt wurden, zeigen, dab Thallium unter diesen Umstauden nicht gelost % i d , daB also mit Wasserstoff gesaittigtes sauerst,oEfreies Wasser Thallium nicht korrodiert.
