Подготовку почвы в лесных питомниках выполняют по системе черного, раннего, сидерального или занятого пара. При обработке по системе черного пара производится зяблевая вспашка плугами с предплужниками, что обеспечивает накопление в почве осенне-зимней влаги, уничтожение вредителей и сорняков, накопление перегноя в нижнем слое пласта. Известные плуги зяблевой вспашки имеют целый ряд существенных недостатков по обеспечению оптимальных условий для роста и развития растений, а именно: отсутствие возможности внесения минеральных удобрений одновременно со вспашкой, недостаточная глубина обработки при вспашке плугом с предплужником, необходимость увеличения глубины пахотного горизонта, повышенное тяговое сопротивление. При подрезании лемехом пласта в горизонтальной плоскости создается уплотненное дно «плужная подошва», которая ухудшает условия роста и развития корневой системы культурных растений и приводит к снижению урожайности. После зяблевой вспашки боронование не производится, что позволяет улучшить снегозадержание и накопление влаги в почве. При весеннем бороновании обычно используются тяжелые и средние бороны БЗТС и БЗСС, которые также не обеспечивают качественной обработки почвы, так как зубья обволакиваются растительными остатками, что приводит к полному нарушению технологического процесса. При уходе за посадками сеянцев и саженцев обычно осуществляют трех-четырехкратную культивацию на глубину до 12 см культиваторами КПС-4 или другими культиваторами, стойки культиваторных лап которых обволакиваются растительными остатками, что приводит к нарушению технологического процесса и снижению качества обработки. Таким образом, необходимо совершенствование технологий обработки почвы в лесных питомниках путем создания нового комплекса орудий для вспашки и поверхностной обработки почвы, идеи которых и представлены в данной статье.
