Investigations of Alkaline Rare Earth Orthophosphates M 3 Ln(PO 4 ) 2 .-The rubidium and/or potassium rare earth double phosphate powders are synthesized as pure phases via a new preparation route. The essential feature of the reaction is the use of freshly precipitated, low particle size LnPO 4 ·nH 2 O (I) as starting material. Furthermore, it could be shown that the system M 3 La(PO 4 ) 2 forms a complete Rb/K mixed crystal series. These compounds crystallize in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /m (Z = 2). -(SCHWARZ, L.; KLOSS, M.; ROHMANN, A.; SASUM, U.; HABERLANDL, D.; J. Alloys Compd. 275-277 (1998) 1-2, 93-95; Inst. Phys.
