We investigate theoretically the phase diagrams of the second-type antiferromagnet with the fcc structure. Besides the nearest-neighbour and next--nearest-neighbour exchange interactions, the biquadratic and long-range dipolar terms are taken into account. The results can be useful to discuss the phase diagram of europium telluride under external pressure.
A model of EuTe thin film is theoretically studied. For this purpose the molecular field method is adopted, supplemented by the Gibbs energy analysis. The influence of the surface exchange parameter on the phase diagrams is illustrated in figures and discussed.
A simple model for the description of thin EuTe lms is proposed. The magnetoelastic interactions at the surface are taken into account. The in®uence of the elastic stresses on magnetic properties of the lm is studied, especially with respect to the possibility of antiferromagnetic / ferromagnetic phase transitions.
In the paper, the theoretical studies of EuTe (a second -type antiferromagnet) in all external magnetic field are carried out. The phase diagrams, magnetisation and magnetic susceptibility are calculated. The results are discussed in regards to their stability and compared with the experinmntal data.PACS: 75.10-Ilk; 75.50.Ee;
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
