This article investigates the effect of magnetic field on the viscosity of Fe 3 O 4 -water magnetic nanofluid experimentally. Experiments were done in the volume fraction range 0 to 1 vol% and the temperature ranges from 25 to 45 ˚C. The results showed that the viscosity increased with increasing of nanoparticle volume fractions and decreased with temperature enhancement with or without of magnetic field. Also, it is observed that the viscosity of the magnetic nanofluid increases with enhancement of magnetic field strength. Thus, magnetic field is a basic factor that influences the viscosity of the magnetic nanofluids and magnetic nanofluid flow can be controlled by applying a magnetic field.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
