B e \ 1.0^0.5 MG. A total of 15% of the white dwarfs in the survey have a magnetic Ðeld [30 kG. This value is far larger than the 2% of DA stars, but more than half of the DC stars were originally misclassiÐed. Only 5% of the reclassiÐed DC stars have magnetic Ðelds above 30 kG. NonÈwhite dwarfs were also observed : the two BL Lacs are unpolarized in circular polarization and an extreme carbon star was discovered.Three magnetic stars from the DC white dwarf survey were reobserved to investigate the possibility of rotation. Two are deÐnitely rotating : LHS 1734 with 16 yr and G158-45 (\LHS 1044) minutes [ P \ 1 with a probable period P D 11 hr but a deÐnite period P ¹ 1 day or P D a few days. G183-35 might be rotating with 50 few yr. minutes [ P \ a
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
