Trigeminal trophic syndrome is an uncommon condition characterized by chronic facial ulceration. In this syndrome, the ulceration results from selfinduced trauma caused by paresthesia resulting from damage to sensory branches of the trigeminal nerve. The differential diagnosis includes infectious, neoplastic, and immunologic processes. A patient with a nasal ulcer located on the left ala nasi extending to the adjacent cheek is presented. It was diagnosed as trigeminal trophic syndrome on the basis of clinical and histopathological findings. Treatment included resection of the ulcer followed by repair with a subcutaneous pedicled nasolabial flap.
