The paper provides data on a new antropophyte species - Typha laxmannii Lepech. which spreads throughout Poland as a hemiagriophyte. Its present distribution in Poland is given on a cartogramme map in a 10×10 km square grid and its geographic element, population numbers and notes on habitats are provided. An identification key to 5 species of the Typha genus, two native, one new which is the topic of this paper, and two which can be expected to be discovered in Poland
This paper lists 607 synanthropic vascular plant taxa (plus three unstable interspecific hybrids) found in Nowy Sącz town during studies done in 1995–1999 and supplemented in 2018. The list includes data for each taxon (synanthropic status, occupied habitats, frequency of occurrence, number and list of ATPOL grid squares where it was noted, and literature data).
Coronilla vaginalis Lam., a Central European montane species, is reported for the first time from Poland, from the Tatra Mountains. A general map of the taxon's distribution is given, and the location of the newly recorded stand is shown on a map of Poland and the Tatra National Park. Its habitat, calcareous grassland of the order Seslerietalia, is characterized in detail.
Lectotypes for five infraspecific names of Ranunculus ficaria (currently known as Ficaria verna s.str.) (Ranunculaceae) described by Hugo Zapałowicz are proposed. Four of these names are established synonyms of Ficaria verna s.str. Ranunculus ficaria var. bessarabicus is considered to be a new synonym of F. grandiflora, which is newly recorded for Moldova. Revised syntypes represent three species of Ficaria: F. verna s.str., F. grandiflora, and F. calthifolia. The exact dates of publication for parts 12 and 13 of Zapałowicz’s work entitled Conspectus florae Galiciae criticus published in the journal Rozprawy Wydziału Matematyczno-Przyrodniczego Akademii Umiejętności, Seria III, Dział B. Nauki Biologiczne are corrected based on the publisher’s catalogue.
Gagea minima (L.) Ker Gawl. is a rare species characteristic of meso- and eutrophic deciduous forest communities of the Fagetalia sylvaticae order. It is an inconspicuous spring geophyte easily overlooked in the field, occurring in oak-hornbeam and oak-beech forests, thickets, mountain glades and meadows. The paper gives information about the historical and present occurrence of G. minima within the administrative boundaries of the city of Kraków. Eight historical (6 published and 2 found in KRA herbarium material) and 4 new localities are described. The study demonstrates that rare plant species associated with natural forest communities may still occur in remaining fragments of these biotopes even within such a heavily urbanized area as the city of Kraków.
