The integration of ICT into power systems has increased the interdependencies between the two systems. The operation of power system depends on several ICT-enabled grid services which manifest the interdependencies. ENTSO-E system state classification is a tool that is widely used by operators to determine the current operational state of the power system. However, it does not adequately describe the impact of ICT disturbances on the operation of the power system. Despite their interconnections, the operational states of both systems have been described separately so far. This paper bridges the well-established ENTSO-E systems state classification with an ICT system state classification, forming a new model considering the state classification of the ICT-enabled grid services. The model is developed by first identifying the ICT-enabled services, remedial actions and the respective performance requirements that are required by the power system. Then the states of these services are specified based on the supporting ICT system. The resulting joint state description shows how performance degradation of ICT-enabled services (introduced by disturbances) can affect the operation of the interconnected power system. Two case studies of such ICT-enabled services, namely state estimation and on-load tap changer control, are investigated in terms of how their operational states affect the states of the power system. A third case study highlights the interdependencies that exist between the services. These case studies demonstrate the interdependencies that exist between power and ICT systems in modern cyber-physical energy systems, thus highlighting the usage of a unified system state description.
<p>This paper studies effects of the triaxiality and radiation pressure of both the primaries on the stability of the infinitesimal motion about triangular equilibrium points in the elliptical restricted three body problem(ER3BP), assuming that the bigger and the smaller primaries are triaxial and the source of radiation as well. It is observed that the motion around these points is stable under certain condition with respect to the radiation pressure and oblate triaxiality. The critical mass ratio depends on the radiation pressure, triaxiality, semi -major axis and eccentricity of the orbits. It is further analyzed that an increase in any of these parameters has destabilizing effects on the orbits of the infinitesimal.</p>
Digitalization enables the automation required to operate modern cyber-physical energy systems (CPESs), leading to a shift from hierarchical to organic systems. However, digitalization increases the number of factors affecting the state of a CPES (e.g., software bugs and cyber threats). In addition to established factors like functional correctness, others like security become relevant but are yet to be integrated into an operational viewpoint, i.e. a holistic perspective on the system state. Trust in organic computing is an approach to gain a holistic view of the state of systems. It consists of several facets (e.g., functional correctness, security, and reliability), which can be used to assess the state of CPES. Therefore, a trust assessment on all levels can contribute to a coherent state assessment. This paper focuses on the trust in ICT-enabled grid services in a CPES. These are essential for operating the CPES, and their performance relies on various data aspects like availability, timeliness, and correctness. This paper proposes to assess the trust in involved components and data to estimate data correctness, which is crucial for grid services. The assessment is presented considering two exemplary grid services, namely state estimation and coordinated voltage control. Furthermore, the interpretation of different trust facets is also discussed.CCS Concepts: • Hardware → Smart grid; • Security and privacy → Trust frameworks.
This paper analyzes the existence of resonance stability of the triangular equilibrium points of the planar elliptical restricted three-body problem when both the primaries are oblate spheroid as well as the source of radiation under the particular case, whene=0. We have derived Hamiltonian function describing the motion of infinitesimal mass in the neighborhood of the triangular equilibrium solutions taken as a convergent series. Hamiltonian function for the system has been derived and also expanded in powers of the generalized components of momenta. We have used canonical transformation to make the Hamiltonian function independent of true anomaly. The most interesting and distinguishable results of this study are establishing the relation for determining the range of stability at and near the resonanceω2=1/2around the binary system.
