Hemiplegia is a type of paralysis that affects one side of the body due to stroke, characterizing severe weakness or rigid movement. Many people of different age groups are affected by this condition which cannot be completely cured but can be minimized through proper physiotherapy. A continuous and repeated exercise has to be given to the hemiplegic subjects to regain their motor function. To serve this purpose, a three-dimensional model of wheelchair contrived with lower limb exoskeleton is designed and motion analysis is done using SolidWorks. This virtual model of the object is created with the assistance of computer-aided design software. Professionals can be able to do the experiment on what-if scenarios with their three-dimensional designs, which helps to validate their devices and identify any snags with design quality. The pattern of behaviour of lower limb exoskeleton is predicted using SimMechanics in MATLAB.
This paper aims to automate the detection of cancer using digital image processing techniques in MATLAB software. The analysis of white blood cells (WBC) is a powerful diagnostic tool for the prediction of Leukemia. The automatic detection of leukemia is a challenging task, which remains an unresolved problem in the medical imaging field. This Automation in Biological laboratories can be done by extracting the features of the blood film images taken from the digital microscopes and processed using MATLAB software. The aim of this approach is to discover the WBC cancer cells in an earlier stage and to reduce the discrepancies in diagnosis, by improving the system learning methodology. This paper presents the potent algorithm, which will eliminate the dubiety, in diagnosing the cancers with similar symptoms. This Algorithm concentrates on major WBC cancers, such as Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. As they are life threatening diseases, rapid and precise differentiation is necessary in clinical settings. These cancers are categorized by segmentation and feature extraction, which will be further, classified using Random forest classification (RFC). RFC will classify the cancer using a decision tree learning method, which uses predictors at each node to make better decision.
Paralysis is a condition in which the muscle function is lost in a part of the body. Paralysis is mainly caused as a result of severe stroke, where in the blood supply to a part of the brain is cut off. Hemiplegiais a type of paralysis which affects half of the body includes one arm and one leg on the same side of the body. The case of left Hemiplegia is taken into account, which is caused by the absence of blood supply to the righthemisphere of the brain. Stationary systems like Lokomat, used in the rehabilitation centres to assist training, provide highly repetitive action and just assistance to the patient’s capabilities while walking on a treadmill. However these systems are not portable and cannot be used for home or daily activities. To overcome this, this paper presents the rehabilitation system, which comprises of an exoskeleton that aids the movement of the left upper limb. The entire system is driven by a motor through a microcontroller system which assists patient’s flexion and extension movements. Meanwhile, EMG signal can be recorded by placing surface electrodes to know the recovery of physiological motor function.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
