Dielectric, thermal, and elastic properties of Cs2CuCl4 crystals are studied at temperature from 80 K to their melting point. No anomalies typical of incommensurate phase transitions are observed. The changes in ϵ33 as well as in the c33 and c23 components of the elasticity tensor suggest the possibility of a phase transition at a temperature below 80 K. The anisotropy of elasticity for quasilongitudinal, quasitransverse, and pure transverse waves is determined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
