A&E departments in the UK by the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary. At that time, they wanted him for deception. At this hospital, he has had seven attempted admissions, three of which were successful for one night. On the other four occasions, he was recognized by A&E and GU Medicine staff. He is 6 0 0 00 , has longish brown straggly hair and his front teeth are almost non-existent. During a recent attempted admission at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Dr Nick Beeching's team took a detailed note of his tattoos. On his right forearm, he has a tattoo of a dagger which is about 9 inches in size, a tattoo on the back of his left hand which spells 'Julia', on the back of his right hand is a tattoo which spells 'Chris' and just under this he has a dainty little tattoo of a line figure representing 'The Saint' from that famous television programme. (Artist's impression enclosed here for our younger viewers!) (Figure 2) In an even more remarkable twist, when I was in Euston railway station last week buying my NHS steerage class ticket who do I see but himself. Now we could not remember what the logo on his jacket had been. He has had the same jacket for 15 years! Well there is a coincedence, I just happen to have a picture of one just like it on my mobile phone (Figure 3). He has had hundreds of admissions wasting thousands of pounds, not to mention staff time and effort. It is essential that frontline staff should recognize him immediately and put an end to this self-destructive behaviour. A final note-a week after I wrote this letter Dr John Lee of Clayton Hospital, Wakefield mailed me to say the same patient had managed to gain overnight admission there.
