We report a two-spherical mirror multipass cell which allows efficient coupling of a laser beam to a collimated molecular beam at the center of the cell. With near-concentric alignment and the laser beam coupled into and out of the cell at the edges of opposite mirrors, an approximately parabolic pattern of reflections is observed on each mirror. Aligned for forty to fifty passes, the cell is used for direct absorption spectroscopy of jet-cooled acetylene, propyne, and 1-butyne in the 3-microm region. Sub-Doppler linewidths as narrow as 12 MHz have been recorded.
The rotational spectrum of highly vibrationally mixed quantum states of propynol near 3330 cm−1 Coherent ion dip spectroscopy of the ground state benzene-Ar complex: Vibration-rotation levels up to 130 cm−1 intermolecular energyThe high resolution infrared spectrum of jet-cooled I-butyne is reported for the acetylenic C-H stretch. The absorbance of an F-center laser beam is enhanced by a mUltiple reflection cell surrounding the free jet. Although the spectrum in the gas phase (300 K) is a featureless rotational contour, at 3 K sharp features are observed. For J' = 0, 1,2, the K ~ = 1 lines are spectroscopically well-behaved, but the K ~ = 0 lines are split into multiplets. Analysis of the K I = 1 lines gives the constants (B' + C ')/2 = 0.143 82(11) cm-I, (1j, -C')/2 = 0.007 20( 11) cm-I,and Vo + A' -A" = 3333.0182(9) cm-I . The quantities in parentheses are two standard deviations in units ofthe last digit. It is concluded that the K ~ = 0 levels are mixed with the bath of background vibrations by anharmonic matrix elements the order of 0.01 cm -I.
ABSTRACTThe objective of this work was to evaluate the genetic divergence among 17 cultivars of sunflower. The experiment was carried out in Papanduva, North Plateau of Santa Catarina State, Brazil, in 2008/2009 cropping season. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications. The multivariate was used to evaluate the divergence among the cultivars by canonic variable and cluster analysis (UPGMA and Tocher), based on the generalized Mahalanobis Distance (D²). Univariate and multivariate analyses of variance showed differences among cultivars. The cultivars were grouped in tree clusters. The plant height and days until the flowering showed high contribution towards genetic divergence.
ABSTRACTThe sunflower planting was stimulated in last years in Santa Catarina State, Brazil, with the aim to produce biodiesel. However, there is lack of information about the adequate cultivars and planting dates to different soil and climatic conditions of this State. The objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of ten sunflower cultivars, cultivated in three planting dates, under the soil and climatic conditions of North Plateau of Santa Catarina State. The cultivars tested were: Aguará 3, Aguará 4, Catissol, Charrua, Dow MG2, Dow M734, Embrapa 122, Helio 358, Helio 360 and IAC Iarama. These cultivars were planted in 20/07/07, 25/09/07 and 18/10/07. The treatments were arranged in a randomized block design, with four replications. There were variations in development cycle, grain yield and other agronomic traits among cultivars. Five cultivars produced more than 2,500 kg ha -1 of grains. July planting date showed the highest average grain yield.
