ABSTRACT The district of Jurema, Caucaia-Ce, has a demographic density of 7,657.38 inhabitants / km², the largest in the municipality compared to the densest neighborhoods in the metropolis Fortaleza. Its formation is linked to the implantation of several housing estates, in the 1970s, which in turn directed the expansion of the urban network to the headquarters district, as well as a commercial and services area along Avenida D. Almeida Lustosa. This article aims to analyze the integration of Caucaia and the district of Jurema with the metropolitan dynamics. In this way, the methodology is based on the review of literature produced on the themes related to the production of urban space and also local and specific literature of the spatial clipping under investigation. Socioeconomic and infrastructural data from the municipality of Caucaia and the RMF were also collected at IBGE and IPECE. The investigation undertaken leads to the understanding that Jurema has consolidated itself as a subcentrality of the RMF, being an important commercial and service center, due to the proximity to the capital of Ceará, as well as the system of roads and transports that allow a multiplicity of flows and population displacement.
