In einer fruheren Arbeit, die in dieser Zeitschrift veroffentlicht worden istl), haben wir gezeigt, dal3 bei der biochemischen Synthese von p-Methylglucosid das Masenwirkungs-Gesetz seine volle Giiltigkeit behdt. Das Verhaltnis der Geschwindigkeits-Konstanten fur die Hydrolyse und Synthese des fi-Methyl-glucosids (beide Reaktionen unter gleichen Bedingungen ausgefuhrt) hat denselben Wert wie die Gleichgewichts-Konstante. Diese Feststellung widerspricht den Schlul3folgerungen von H. v. E u l e r und K. Jos e p h s o n , die auf Grund derselben von B o u r q u e l o t angegebenen experimentellen Daten, deren auch wir uns bedienten, den SchluB ziehen, daB die Gleichgewichts-Konstante, die aus dem Verhaltnis der Geschwindigkeits-Konstanten fur die Hydrolyse und Synthese berechnet wird, einen 4-ma1 groBeren Wert hat als die Gleichgewichts-Konstante, die sich aus den Konzentrationen der aktiven Korper am Ende der Reaktion ergibt. Die genannten Autoren ziehen a d Grund dieser Zahl den SchluB. daB die Affinitat der (3-Glucosidase fur die Glucose 4-ma1 groaer ist als fur das Glucosid. Wie wir in der friiheren Mitteilung gezeigt haben, entspricht diese Ungleichheit . der Gleichgewichts-Konstanten, die aus den Konzentrationen beim Gleichgewicht und aus dem Verhaltnis der Geschwindigkeits-Konstanten berechnet werden, nicht der Wirklichkeit und ist nur einer fehlerhaften Berechnung der beiden Konstanten zuzuschreiben. Wenn man richtig rechnet, erhalt man sowohl fur die Gleichgewichts-Konstante aus den Konzentrationen beim Gleichgewicht, als auch fur die, die sich aus dem Verhaltnis der Geschwindigkeits-Konstanten ergibt, gemaB dem Massenwirkungs-Gesetz fast denselben Wert von 0.246.I n letzter Zeit hatten K. P. J a c o b s o h n und A. da Cruz2), die ebenfalls die Anwendung des Massenwirkungs-Gesetzes fur den reversiblen ProzeB : Fumarsaure + Wasser + Apfelsaure studierten, festgestellt, da13 die Gleichgewichts-Konstante aus dem Konzentrationen beim Gleichgewicht 0.26 ist, das Verhaltnis der Geschwindigkeits-Konstanten aber, die gesondert fur den Wasser-Additions und -AbspaltungsprozeB bestimmt wurden, 0.50 betragt.
