In [1], a method is described for testing gear teeth involving determination of the maximal failure force in static and dynamic loading. However, that method is not universal, and complicated specimens are required for the tests. There have been attempts to develop methods of evaluating the strengths for materials given chemicothermal treatment. In [2], a method is considered for testing metals in impact bending on special specimens in the form of gear teeth, which has been called Brugger's method [2]. The method is based on breaking the specimen with a single impact from a pendulum striker. The tests give curves with coordinates impact forcetime and/or impact forcedeflection.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
