Поиски новых подходов к решению задач определения структур и физических свойств сложных атомномолекулярных и биомолекулярных систем (с характерными им свойствами нелинейности, упорядочения, самоорганизации) на стыке физики конденсированных состояний, молекулярной и квантовой физики, биофизики и молекулярной биологии, потребовали проведения комплекса исследований таких сложных систем от макроуровня до наноуровня их организации. Это было бы невозможно без применения моделирования и современных компьютерных методов исследования. И это привело к созданию группы компьютерного моделирования наноструктур и биосистем, нацеленной на решение этих задач.В разные периоды времени группа занималась моделированием и исследованиями систем и объектов разного типа: ионными каналами биологических мембран и самими биомембранами, структурами на основе аминокислот и оснований ДНК (такими как кристаллы глицина и тимина, и др.) и т.п. На этом этапе стало понятно, что все эти системы являются электрически полярными, дипольными, способными к упорядочению и фазовой перестройке, имеющими электромеханическую связь с деформацией и, тем самым, проявляющие и пьезоэлектрические свойства. А в таких системах действуют законы подобные физике сегнетоэлектриков. Тогда было сформировано и стало развиваться новое научное направление -биосегнетоэлектричество [1][2][3][4][5].В последние годы мы сосредоточены на моделировании и исследованиях таких биомолекулярных систем на наноуровне методами квантовой механики. Применяемые нами здесь подходы основаны как на квантовохимических полу-эмпирических методах (AM1, PM3, RM1 и других из программного пакета HyperChem; PM6, PM7, PM6-D3H4 из программы MOPAC), так и на методах теории функционала плотности (ТФП) в разных приближениях (локальной плотности LDA -в программе AIMPRO; обобщенного градиента GGA -в программных пакетах VASP и Quantum ESPRESSO) и с различными функционалами, в т.ч. гибридными функционалами ТФП разного типа (PBE, HSE, B3LYP), позволяющими проводить все более высокоточные расчеты. Фактически эти наши работы являются обоснованием развитого ранее подхода к молекулярным биологическим объектам как структурам, имеющим биосегнетоэлектрические свойства. Эти объекты являются и самоорганизующимися, поэтому здесь необходимо применение и методов молекулярной динамики (МД), причем именно квантовой МД, с квантовыми расчетами (методами типа PM3) на каждом шаге.
