differences among the groups were noted for this variable. Changes in heart rate did not differ significantly among the groups, and no patient reported intraoperative awareness. No maternal or fetal complications occurred.Preexposure to subanesthetic concentrations of sevoflurane reduced BIS values before delivery, particularly just after skin incision, and kept the BIS < 60 during the time before delivery. This method could reduce the risk of maternal awareness during general anesthesia for cesarean delivery. Additional research is required to determine the appropriate sevoflurane concentrations and exposure times.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
