SHORT COMMUNICATIONSMetal phthalocyanines with peripheral nitrogencontaining heteroaromatic substituents attract interest as photocatalysts, semiconductors, and photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy of cancer [1]. However, only a few studies have been reported on pyrazolyl-substituted phthalocyanine complexes [2-4]. Herein we describe the synthesis of previously unknown zinc tetrakis[4-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)phenoxy]phthalocyanine 2. Surprisingly, we succeeded in readily isolating compound 2 as pure C s randomer, which is a fairly rare case in the chemistry of metal phthalocyanines [5].
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
