The paper gives an analysis of the current state of the RBMK safety evaluation in accidents initiated by partial ruptures of the delivery part of the circulating loop. It appears from this analysis that applicability and uncertainty of the international code RELAP for RBMK safety analysis could not be determined up to the present. At the same time it is shown in the paper that fuel rod cladding temperature can reach the acceptability criterion in the accidents. As a result it has been concluded that bases of the next stage of the RBMK safety analysis would be creation of a code oriented to the special features of a reactor RBMK.
A method is developed for the calculation of the rate of release of stored energy when annealing stored graphite. The method is based on the utilization of regularities of the sample temperature rise under adiabatic heating. The algorithm of calculation of internal heat sources, which is based on this method, is realized in the case of numerical solution of the problem of heat conduction in irradiated graphite under conditions of Wigner energy release. The method is verified using the adiabatic heating of a cylindrical sample as an example. An investigation is performed of the effect of the coefficient of intensity of heat transfer between a graphite sample and environment on the process of variation of temperature fields in the sample with release of stored energy.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
