Predictions for the semileptonic decays of charm baryons are given in two quark models: The nonrelativistic and the MIT bag models. We find that several processes have large branching ratios, of the order of few percent; these are very large in comparison with the strange-hyperon semileptonic-decay branching ratios. We also notice that the q 2 dependence overwhelms other corrections and should be considered in the future with more emphasis. Finally, the predictions found for the A: decay-when compared with the corresponding experimental value-leave ample room for the existence of a fourth generation.
We obtain an expression for the Dalitz plot of semileptonic decays of polarized hyperons including radiative corrections to order ␣ and neglecting terms of the order ␣q/M 1 , where q is the four-momentum transfer and M 1 is the mass of the decaying hyperon. Our results are specialized to exhibit the angular correlation between such polarization and the momentum of the emitted hyperon. The model dependence of radiative corrections is kept in a general form within this approximation which is suitable for model-independent experimental analysis. Our final result, valid for charged as well as for neutral hyperons, allows us to obtain the angular spinasymmetry coefficient of the emitted hyperon. ͓S0556-2821͑97͒04709-7͔
We obtain an expression for the Dalitz plot of semileptonic decays of charged baryons, including radiative corrections with all the terms of the order a times the momentum transfer. The model dependence of the radiative corrections is kept in a general form which is suitable for model-independent experimental analysis. The bremsstrahlung contribution is given in two ways. The first one leaves the triple integration over the photon variables to be performed numerically and the second one is completely analytic. Our result is suitable for high-statistics decays of ordinary baryons as well as for medium-statistics decays of charm baryons.
We obtain a model-independent expression for the Dalitz plot of semileptonic decays of polarized hyperons including radiative corrections to order ␣ and neglecting terms of order ␣q/M 1 , where q is the fourmomentum transfer and M 1 is the mass of the decaying hyperon. We specialize our results to exhibit the correlation between the charged-lepton momentum and the spin of the decaying hyperon. We present results for the three-body region of the Dalitz plot and for the complete Dalitz plot ͑which includes the four-body region͒. From these results we also obtain the corresponding radiative corrections to the integrated lepton spin-asymmetry coefficient. Our formulas are valid for charged as well as for neutral decaying hyperons and are appropriate for model-independent experimental analyses whether the real photon is discriminated or not.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
