IN T R O D U Ç Ã OO estudo da discrepância relativa entre os resultados obtidos por reação de fixação de complemento com antfgeno de Trypanosom a c ru z i foi feito por Almeida & Siqueira6 com soros chegásicos examinados em duplicado. Observaram esses autores que em pares de rea ções paralelas e simultâneas, utilizando-se os mesmos reativos, as discrepãncias observadas e produzidas por erros ténicos, não eram de maior grandeza e freqüência, que as determina das em outros sistemas, como sífilis5 e lepra4 . Desses, estudos se pode concluir que os mesmos critérios adotados naqueles sistemas, para a ava liação de antígenos, podiam ser empregados na reação de Guerreiro-Machado, por técnica quan titativa com o antígeno de T. c ru z i preparado segundo Freitas & Almeida8.No entanto, antígenos preparados por outros métodos, aliados a técnicas diversas de fixação de complemento, poderiam dar resultados dis crepantes, quando os mesmos soros eram exa minados nessas diferentes condições.Neste trabalho são apresentados os resulta dos obtidos nos mesmos soros examinados nos laboratórios da Fundação Gonçalo Muniz, em Salvador, Bahia, no Departamento de Parasitologia, Microbiologia e Imunologiada Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto e no Instituto Nacional de Endemias Rurais, em Belo Horizon te.
