The possibility of applying the fixed-frequency radiowave interferometry with utilization of magic tee and Gunn-diode autodyne for detection of human thorax respiratory movements and heartbeats has been proved. Introduction. New applications of microwaves in diagnostics and therapy [3] are based on the use of super high sensitive radiometers [3], millimeter-wave radiation [2] and on the development of biometrical monitoring of physiological human parameters by means of radiowave remote probing [4]. Radiowave remote probing can be applied to both for monitoring of seriously ill persons (e.g., in burn center) and for victims search in catastrophes. In measurement of parameters of object movements by means of optical radiowave methods the interference of incident and reflected electromagnetic waves is often used. In such measurers the frequency and the amplitude of mechanical movements of an object is determined from the interference signal or its spectrum with very high accuracy [5]- [9].In this work the possibility of applying the fixed-frequency radiowave interferometry with utilization of magic tee and Gunn-diode autodyne for detection of human respiratory movements and heartbeats have being investigated.Fixed-frequency radiowave interferometry. Theoretical Basis. In the development of high sensitive measurement systems in the microwave region it is used frequently a magic tee. When microwave signal supplied to the H-arm of magic tee, the amplitude of microwave current Io, induced in the E-arm as the result of interference of waves, reflected from the load in the base arm and from the measuring object, is defined by amplitudes of currents I, and I2, induced in the load in the E-arm of the magic tee by reflected waves, and by the length difference L between the base arm and the measuring arm: Io= JIl2+I2 +2I,I2cos(z+wr), (1) where =2L /u is the delay time of electromagnetic wave in the measuring arm, u is the speed of electromagnetic wave propagation, Co is the microwave signal frequency. Initial phase difference 7c corresponds to the minimum energy branching to the E-arm when lengths of base and measuring arms are equal. Semiconductor detector with voltage-current characteristic ' sexpjJ q jv (2) s( ( kT) ) placed in the E-arm of magic tee, allows one to record the detected signal, which value at small microwave power is defined by the expression: I 2 + I22 + 2I1I2 os(zr+wr)), (3) ID=2IS 21s 2 I O(I Owhere Is is the saturation current of reverse-biased diode, V is the instantaneous value of diode voltage, k is the Boltzmann constant, T is the absolute temperature. If an object, which performs longitudinal periodical motion about equilibrium position Lo under the law L = Lo + sin(Q t + '), where ;, Q and E are the amplitude, frequency and initial phase of the oscillations, is situated in the measurement arm of the magic tee, then the detected signal is: I =Io cOsLT+2 u (LO +q sin(Q t+4))) (4)
