Agricultura familiar é um conceito utilizado para caracterizar as unidades de produção rural, estruturadas no trabalho familiar, que se identificam pela relação entre terra, trabalho e família. As recentes transformações ocorridas no espaço agrário brasileiro, com o advento da modernização, afetaram as pequenas e médias propriedades rurais, provocando a descapitalização e a exclusão social do pequeno agricultor familiar, o que trouxe como consequência o êxodo rural, por exemplo. Objetivo: O presente trabalho busca analisar as principais dificuldades enfrentadas na comercialização de alface, couve e cheiro verde pelos agricultores familiares da feira da quadra 304 Sul, na cidade de Palmas-TO, assim como os preços praticados na feira e nos mercados de bairros da cidade. Métodos: Foram aplicados, no ano de 2014, treze questionários semiestruturados em um grupo delimitado agricultores familiares, assim como coletados preços de horti frutis em três mercados de bairros. Resultados: A pesquisa aponta que segundo os entrevistados não há entraves à comercialização dos produtos, e a diferença dos preços nos diferentes espaços de comercialização só é significativa para a alface, sendo de 11,33% a 55,60% mais barata na feira. Conclusões: A pesquisa sugere, a partir do levantamento do perfil dos entrevistados, a realização de pesquisas futuras que podem contribuir para o acompanhamento e/ou (re)direciomanto das ações públicas em questões sensíveis ao segmento da agricultura familiar no Brasil.
Esta revisão narrativa trata das abordagens de análise de cadeias produtivas a partir de uma perspectiva histórica e evolucionaria. Tendo como objetivo apresentar uma leitura da trajetória histórica das diferentes abordagens de estudos em cadeias produtivas, tendo como ponto de partida estudos associados à produção agropecuária. No presente trabalho são apresentadas e comparadas as abordagens do Commodity System Approach, Filières, cadeias de valor, e cadeias de suprimentos. A partir da revisão foi possível identificar as similaridades e distinções entre as diferentes abordagens tendo como um fio condutor a evolução histórica. Por fim, a pesquisa apresenta algumas considerações acerca de estudos relacionados às cadeias do agronegócio ao longo do tempo, e alerta para a importância de se estimular pesquisas que tenham como objeto de análise as cadeias globalizadas do agronegócio.
Objetivo: O Objetivo deste artigo é analisar a sustentabilidade da produção de biodiesel no Tocantins e no Brasil, a partir dos primeiros anos do Programa Nacional de Produção e Uso do Biodiesel (PNPB), sob as perspectivas ambientais e socioeconômicas da produção. Métodos: A pesquisa se baseou em levantamento bibliográfico e na análise de dados secundários oriundos da Agência Nacional de Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (ANP). Resultados: Nos primeiros anos de criação do PNPB, o Tocantins ainda se apresentava como um estado tímido na produção do biocombustível. A pesquisa também aponta que a política pública do biodiesel não está sendo eficaz na proposta de diversificar a produção do biocombustível através de oleaginosas alternativas à soja, que prevalece como monocultura para fins bioenergéticos. Adicionalmente discute questões críticas relacionadas à sustentabilidade econômica e socioambientais do PNPB, que a priori não coadunam com a proposta inicial do programa. Conclusão: A pesquisa indica alguns fatores que contribuem para compreender a baixa participação do Tocantins na produção nacional do biodiesel. Assim como pontos críticos para a promoção da sustentabilidade econômica, social e ambiental da produção do biocombustível no país.
A necessidade de uma diversificação da matriz energética acelerou a busca por fontes energéticas renováveis em face do esgotamento dos combustíveis fósseis. Nesse panorama, em 2004, o governo brasileiro lançou o Programa Nacional de Produção e Uso de Biodiesel (PNPB), com o objetivo de introduzir um biocombustível aderente as condições edafoclimáticas do país e que tivesse como princípio a inclusão social da agricultura familiar e o desenvolvimento regional. Objetivos: A presente pesquisa teve como objetivos a apresentação do perfil socioeconômico das famílias de agricultores familiares inseridas e não inseridas na cadeia produtiva do biodiesel tocantinense, e a análise da existência ou não de fatores que pudessem influenciar ou determinar in(exclusão) de uma família nesse circuito produtivo. Métodos: Metodologicamente a pesquisa se valeu, sobretudo, de dados primários, obtidos mediante a aplicação de entrevistas, junto a 30 famílias produtoras de soja e 32 famílias não produtoras da oleaginosa, localizadas em 9 municípios do centro do Tocantins. Resultados: Os resultados concluem que em linhas gerais não houveram diferenças significativas entre os perfis dos conjuntos de famílias. Contudo, ficou constatado que as famílias inseridas no programa foram aquelas com maior grau de instrução, relativamente mais novas e com melhores capacidades econômicas e técnicas de produção. Conclusão: A pesquisa aponta que ao menos para o Tocantins, no período analisado, a inclusão social da agricultura familiar na cadeia produtiva do biodiesel, como preconiza o PNPB, está se dando para aquelas famílias com maior grau de instrução, relativamente mais novas e com melhores capacidades econômicas e técnicas de produção
