Microstaging and p53 positivity have a prognostic value for predicting progression in T1G3 tumors, providing 33% more information than that obtained with classical prognostic factors alone. The application of mathematical models identifies risk groups and allows the use of an early and more aggressive treatment.
m-URS is an effective, safe, and reproducible technique that minimizes surgical aggression to the ureteral anatomy. Satisfactory and comparable results to "conventional" ureteroscopy were obtained in the treatment of distal ureteral stones in women, although clinical trials are needed. The reduction of the ureteral damage may reduce secondary procedures and increase the cost-effectiveness of the procedure.
Ureteral stents have a major role in urology and are used mainly to achieve correct renal drainage. Ureteral stents are very effective and their use in recent decades has clearly increased. However, more than 80% of patients with an ureteral stent present associated symptoms, such as pain, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), sexual dysfunction… leading to an important drop in the quality of life (QoL). Our objective is to describe ureteral stent related symptoms and their impact on the quality of life of patients.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
