W~hrend das Uterussekret von Frauen mit s .sehon seit langer Zeit Gegenstand bakteriologiseher Untersuehungen gewesen ist, hat das Studium der Bakterien des Fieberaborts erst in den letzten Jahren einen Aufsehwung genommen. Es gab ja aueh friiher kleinere Mitteilungen fiber bakteriologisehe Untersuehungen infizierter't Aborte (HM16, Jeanin, Rist usw.), doch .erst in der letzten Zeit~ seit die Pathogenit/~t einiger anaeroben Bakterien anerkannt worcten ist, und seit so vSllig divergierende Neinungen fiber die Bedeutung des bakteriologisehen Untersuehungsbefunds in Bezug auf Prognostik, Therapie und Prophylaxe sieh geltefid gemaeht haben~ hat das Verhi~ltnis der Bakterien zum Fieberabort ein ausserordentliehes Interesse erweekt.Wiihrend einige gerfasser wie Baiseh, Sehiekele~ Traugott, Walthard, Winter u. a. dem bakteriologisehen Befund beim Fieberabort eine grosse Bedeutung in Bezug auf die Therapie zumessen und eine bakteriologisehe Untersuehung vor Behandlung jedes Fieberabor[s anraten, sind andere, wie Bondy, v. Franqu~, KriSmer, Sehauta, der Ansieht, da,ss nieht alas gesultat einer soichen Untersuchung~ sondern n~r das ktinisehe Bild die Behandlung bestimmen kann. --Winter, der bei jedem Abort mit Temperatursteigerung das Vaginalsekret bakteriologiseh untersueht, bedient sieh einer exspektativen Methode nur in dem Fall% wo h~;molytisehe Streptokokken angetroffen worden sind. Kommen andere Bakterien vor~ r~t er zu einer Ausleerung des Uterus. Bei Blutungen gibt Winter erst eine intrauterine Spfilung~ um die 37*
