An industrial platform, which consists of a programmable logic controller and an industrial computer, is used in implementing a practical controller. The controller integrates a pole-placement self tuner with a fault diagnosis scheme. Numerical algorithms are programmed using relay ladder logic (RLL). Functions such as tuning, monitoring, and reporting are provided via the industrial-computer man-machine interface. Experimental results indicate the feasibility of utilizing a PLC with advanced hardware and software facilities to implement complex control functions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
