Tracking detectors play a major role in nuclear and particle physics. They provide a full image of particle trajectories in various medias. There are gaseous ionization detectors (e.g. wire chambers, drift chambers, micropattern gaseous detectors) and solid‐state detectors (e.g. silicon pixel, strip, and drift detectors). Normally, a combination of detectors must be used in tracking systems, for example, large‐volume time projection chambers and silicon trackers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
