Field experiments were conducted during Kharif 2010-2011 and 2011-12, at the field of College of Agriculture, Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani (Maharashtra). Twenty two germplasm were screened for tolerance against major insect pests of soybean. During 2010 Genotypes DSb 16 (2199.1kg/ha) with the highest yield under unprotected conditions was considered as tolerant check. Among the entries tested, two entries viz., SL-799, DSb-16 and three checks JS 93-05, JS-335 and MAUS-158 were categorized as high yielding entries. During 2011, the per cent yield loss in different genotypes ranged from 14.35 (PS 1466) to 61.56 (JS 97-52). Under protected and unprotected conditions yield obtained from JS 93-05 (1621.31 kg/ha) to DS 12-13 (2526.61 kg/ha) and from PS 1466 (1089.65 kg/ha) to DSb 16 (2199.06 kg/ha). The efficacy and economics of different IGR's, insecticides and bio-rational against Spodoptera litura (Fabr.) in soybean, revealed that at three days after first and second sprays the rynaxypyr (64.52%) and emamectin benzoate (58.84% reduction) respectively proved to be the most effective. At seven days more percent reduction in larval population found in chlorpyriphos (53.76 %) and quinalphos (58.59%) where as at 14 days the diflubenzuron (59.72%) and quinalphos (53.42%) found to be the more effective after first and second sprays respectively. Significantly higher seed yield was recorded in rynaxypyr 20 SC followed by spinosad 45SC. The highest gross income and net profit was recorded in rynaxypyr 20 SC.
The investigation was carried out during kharif 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 in order to know the effect of different IPM module on insect pests of soybean. Significantly lower population of (2.54 larvae/ mrl) H.armigera, per cent pod damage (4.23%) by H.armigera were observed in MAU module. The minimum larval population of semilooper (3.62 larvae/mrl), S.litura (2.64 larvae/mrl) and per cent leaflet damage (6.71%) due to leaf miner, the minimum per cent defoliation (10.49%) due to defoliators were observed in chemical control followed by MAU module.
to study Life fecundity table of Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee on Brinjal under laboratory condition.In life table studies egg to adult emergence, 5 per cent male and 6 per cent female moths emerged successfully. The net reproductive rate (R 0 ) representing the total females per female per generation was 17.01. The finite rate of increase in number () was 1.21 females per female per day. The corrected value of the intrinsic rate (r m ) was 0.0833 female per female per day. On reaching stable age-distribution the population of L. orbonalis in its various stages viz., egg, larva, pre-pupa, pupa and adult was distributed to the extent of 52.72, 38.83, 3.72, 4.34 and 0.38 per cent, respectively.
