Abstract:Chronic activation of the nuclear receptor, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARA), causes hepatocellular proliferation and increases the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma in rodents. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying hepatocyte proliferation by activated PPARA remain ambiguous.
