Abstract

The paper talks about the possible trends in the development of the world economy in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. In particular, we discuss the impact of unprecedented economic sanctions imposed by the West as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as the destruction of the economic infrastructure of Ukraine by Russia and the blockade of seaports, on the logistics of the world economy. War has disrupted supply chains, rising prices on food and fuel around the world, resulting in economic shocks of uncertainty and depth. This can be at least a medium-term factor of instability in the event of prolonged hostilities. It is also mentioned that in the near future the main task for many countries will be to control inflation, because the inflation rate is a macroeconomic indicator that primarily affects monetary policy, consumer expectations and behavior. The research concludes that the current Russian-Ukrainian war will put an end to the globalization of the world economy over the past thirty years, stimulate the emergence of a new wave of protectionist policies to protect national economies.
