Abstract

The structural integrity of the ship's hull is an important aspect of ensuring safety of navigation. The ship's hull is its main element and is vital for the safety of the ship and its crew. During ship operation, the hull is exposed to various factors, such as mechanical loads, corrosion, material fatigue and other actions that can lead to a violation of its structural integrity. One of the ways to ensure the structural integrity of a ship's hull is to regularly maintain it, including inspection, maintenance and repair. Currently, there are many innovative technologies and methods that allow for more efficient hull maintenance and improvement of its structural integrity. In this context, the use of new technologies such as unmanned underwater vehicles, robotic cleaners, drones and other automated systems can significantly improve the accuracy and speed of hull maintenance tasks. Also, new materials and technologies such as nano-and micro-shells, anti-corrosion coatings and other innovative materials can help create more effective protective layers on the surface of the ship's hull and thereby reduce the risk of damage and structural integrity. All of these innovative technologies and methods play an important role in ensuring maritime safety and increasing the efficiency of ship operations. This article develops a step-by-step scheme for conducting a ship's hull inspection, proposes an algorithm for determining the hull maintenance interval based on risk and cost assessment, and derives a formula for determining the optimal hull maintenance interval.
