Abstract:Free amino acids were identified by paper chromatography. Their concentration was determined in diapausing larvae and in post-diapausing developing larvae.Nine amino acids were found in both cases. The level of alanin and prolin was found to be higher in diapausing forms than in post-diapause developing ones.The higher level of these amino acids in diapausing larvae appears to be of secondary nature and indirectly associated with the high cold-hardiness of Blastesthia turionella.Academy of Sciences of the Esto… Show more
