Расширение ареала двустворчатого моллюска Corbicula fluminea (O. F. Müller, 1774) в бассейне Нижнего Дона

Abstract: The first record of bivalve mollusc Corbicula fluminea (O. F. Müller, 1774) in the basin of the river Don occurred in the area of Warm channel of Novocherkasskaya hydropower station in January, 2017. Subsequent hydrobiological studies resulted in re-discovery of three living specimens of the Asian Clam in September, 2017 in the aquatoria below the mouth of the river Manych, located 34 km downstream from the site of the mollusk first record. New materials indicate the expansion of the areal of this invasive spe… Show more

“…Corbicula cf. fluminea, which was first found in the Don River in 2017 (Zhivoglyadova et al., 2018 ), is considered one of the most aggressive invasive species tending to lead to negative environmental consequences (Bespalaya et al., 2018 ; Crespo et al., 2015 ) and is therefore likely to be a hazardous exotic species for PC mollusks in the freshwater and oligohaline zones. Recently, the brackish water mussel M .…”

Recently, the brackish water mussel M. leucophaeta was reported from the inner Taganrog Bay (Zhulidov et al, 2015), which, if capable to survive low winter temperatures, can disrupt PC habitats, as has been reported in the Dniester Liman.…”
