Abstract: For forecasting of the change of water quality in Ukrainian part of Danube delta the geographic information system (GIS) of the ecological monitoring had been designed. To this GIS a number of functions had been added including the function of the analysis of the temporary rows of observation results. By means of designed GIS the main trends of the change of the water quality for period, since 2004, have been identified. For majority of the water quality parameters the trends to improvement of water quality ha… Show more

“…The obtained results on the trends of phycological indices correlate with the analytical data of the results of aquatic chemistry monitoring [22]. It can be assumed that the revealed trend toward a decrease in the saprobity index is due to the trend revealed in [17] towards improving water quality in terms of indices featuring organic substance content (BOD 5 and COD), the content of biogenic substances (ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, phosphate phosphorus), as well as suspended solids. However, as can be seen from the data given in the previous section (Table 3), significant correlations were established for the dependence of the saprobity index only on 3 indices as follows: suspended solids, BOD 5 and phosphate phosphorus.…”

“…The observed trend towards a decrease in the Shannon diversity index, calculated from the abundance of phytoplankton, is probably caused by the trend towards an increase in the concentration of manganese revealed in [17].…”
