“…Details of extraction of various types of spectra from experimental data were described elsewhere [44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51]. Here we list only basic facts related to the spectra compared in this paper.…”

“…In reality, data on two-step [41][42][43] and multistep γ cascade (MSC) spectra [44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51] from radiative neutron capture can also be used for constraining or tuning the PSFs models. In these cases, the PSFs cannot be directly extracted from experimental data but tested and validated through a comparison between experimental data and their simulated counterparts based on different PSFs and LD models.…”

“…The DANCE collaboration contributes significantly to improve our understanding of photon strength functions (PSF) as well as nuclear level densities (NLD) through dedicated measurements of neutron capture reactions on selected isotopes. Detailed studies of the capture gamma-ray cascades from compound nucleus yielded many results on spins and parities of neutron resonances and models of PSF and NLD [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13].…”

“…The upgrade of the DANCE data acquisition [7] will help to omit this problem by performing more accurate measurement of the low-energy γ-rays. 114 Cd reaction de-excites via many different cascades with an average multiplicity of 4 [2]. To reduce the size of the response matrix, we considered γ-ray cascades with multiplicity up to 4 and bin width ΔE = 0.5 MeV.…”

“…We carried out a measurement at DANCE with a small-mass cadmium target highly enriched to 113 Cd collecting the γ-rays from the strongest resonance of the 113 Cd(n, γ) 114 Cd reaction at E n = 0.178 eV. The γ-ray cascades in 114 Cd were simulated with the code DICEBOX [1] using the results for the photon strength function (PSF) from our study of the neutron-capture γ-rays from 112 Cd and 114 Cd [2]. A DICEBOX realization represents a level scheme of the nucleus and assignment of all transition widths from a given state to all levels below it.…”
