Abstract:Small electrophilic molecules have previously been reported to monitor different reactivities or covalent ligand abilities of nucleophilic residues in proteins. Herein, we develop β-carbonyl sulfonium compounds to selectively modify cysteines in peptides and proteins in live cells.
