α2δ‐1 couples to NMDA receptors in the hypothalamus to sustain sympathetic vasomotor activity in hypertension

Abstract: Increased glutamate NMDA receptor (NMDAR) activity in the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus leads to augmented sympathetic outflow in hypertension.
