Zyxin protects from hypertension-induced cardiac dysfunction

Abstract: Arterial hypertension causes left ventricular hypertrophy leading to dilated cardiomyopathy. Following compensatory cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, cardiac dysfunction develops due to loss of cardiomyocytes preceded or paralleled by cardiac fibrosis.
