Hussain et al [32] concluded that this association was not independent of DM. A recent systematic meta-analysis and review of previous studies deduced that TCF7L2 may affect the risk of DN, and subgroup analysis showed that this association was consistent in both Asians and Caucasians, but not in Africans [33].…”
