Zur Wirkung eines Milzdialysates auf die Funktion des Rattenhodens

Abstract

The effects of a protein-free aqueous dialysate from calf spleens on enzyme activities in normal and experimental unilateral cryptorchid testes and the accessory genital glands of rats were studied. The following observations were made: (1) Leydig cell complexes of both normal and cryptorchid testes showed clear-cut enlargement associated withan increase of 3β-ol-steroid dehydrogenase and secondary alcoholdehydrogenase activity;(2) no effect was observed on spermatogenesis; (3) the weights of the glandulae vesiculosaewere significantly increased. A clear rise of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, lacticdehydrogenase and acid phosphatase was noted in the epithelium. The possible mode ofaction of the spleen dialysate is discussed.
